After the royal family attended a prayer session for the Queen, Prince Andrew, the younger brother of King Charles, thanked well-wishers for lining the way back to Balmoral, joined by his daughters Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice.

In response to a mourner’s inquiry, Andrew stated:  “We’ve been allowed one day, now we start the process of handing her on. It’s nice to see you, thank you for coming.”

In one of the images, the Duke of York can be seen embracing his youngest daughter and helping her wipe away her tears as they toured the floral tributes placed for the Queen.

Before going on a brief walkabout, other royal family members went to a brief church service close to their Balmoral estate.

Reading the cards and words left for Queen Elizabeth II, who passed away earlier this week at the castle, the entire royal family appeared to be in a highly emotional state.
