ISLAMABAD: Referring to the Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI), Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah on Saturday said if need be, now fresh and effective teargas shells would be fired on the “Fasaadi Tola”.
Addressing a ceremony to pay tribute to martyrs of the police in Islamabad, the interior minister said the “Fasaadi Tola” attacked the federal capital on May 25, but police, FC and other security organisations foiled their attempt. He congratulated the security forces for pushing back the PTI marchers.
He said the “Fasaadi Tola” had a complaint that expired shells were used on their march. He said nobody could besiege Islamabad now. “The page of threats of reaching D-Chowk has been torn,” he added.
Meanwhile, talking to media after visiting Safe City Islamabad on Saturday, Rana Sana Ullah said as per the directions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif coverage of safe city Islamabad would be enhanced from 30 to 100 percent in this fiscal year.
He said Rs40 million had been provided to meet emergency needs of the safe city. He said the government would provide more funds to enhance the capacity of safe city.

The minister said without using technology in safe cities maintaining law and order had become impossible.
Rana Sana Ullah said a hundred-bed hospital for police officials would be established in Islamabad by the end of this fiscal year. He said the prime minister would inaugurate the project. He said it would cost Rs5 billion.
He thanked the prime minister, finance minister and planning minister for approving a big amount for the hospital.
The minister said in current budget approval had been given to bring salaries of Islamabad police at par with Punjab Police. He said salaries of FC personnel would be brought at par with KP Police. He said ration allowance of FC had also been increased.
He said strict action would be taken against miscreants trying to siege the capital.
Responding to a question, he condemned the incident of attack on journalist Ayaz Amir and assured that government would take action against the culprits as per the law.
To another question, he said former prime minister Imran Khan was trying to create anarchy in the country.
