KARACHI: Dr Aafia Siddiqui’s mother Asmat Siddiqui passed away in Karachi on Saturday, Bol News reported.
As per details, her death news is confirmed by Pasban e Pakistan President Altaf Shakoor and Dr. Fowzia Siddiqui who is Aafia’s inmate’s sister. He said that her funeral timing will be disclosed by the family later.
On the other hand, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) directed the Foreign Office (FO) to facilitate and protect Dr Aafia’s family on their US visit to meet her last week, Bol news reported.

In a written order on the plea seeking recovery of Aafia Siddiqui, who’s serving jail sentence in America, IHC Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq Khan issued a two-page written order.
“The Foreign Office should ensure that they will be protected being family of Aafia Siddiqui while going to the US,” the IHC directs.

The IHC said as per the report of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that the counsel general visited the Federal Medical Centre instead of the prison cell of Dr Aafia Siddiqui. The report further added that Siddiqui thought that her family was not alive, the court remarked.
