“If situation worsens, govt is responsible,” warns Sheikh Rashid

  • Sheikh Rashid warned against possible ruckus and said government is responsible in case situation worsens
  • His statement crop up after Imran Khan’s banners were removed from the rally spot
  • Some derogatory banner and screens were placed at Parade Ground last night

RAWALPINDI: Former interior minister Sheikh Rashid in a video message on Saturday said that the incumbent government wants to create a ruckus and will be held responsible if the situation worsens.

In the video clip shared on his Twitter handle, Sheikh Rashid said that posters for the public rally in Parade Ground Islamabad were removed in the late hours and derogatory banners/screens for Imran Khan were placed.

He urged the nation to spread his word while warning the government over the possible ruckus in case of obstructions in the public gathering that was planned for today in Islamabad against the recent price hike and NAB amendments.

Rashid also maintained that the authorities have joined hands for such attempts on PTI while hinting at Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N). Sheikh also underscored that he has been into politics in Rawalpindi for over 50 years but anything such as this never happened adding that the administration and the government will be responsible if the situation worsens during the rally.

He also demanded a probe into the matter and urged the nation to spread his message.

Notably, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI’s) thunder will hit capital today and the rally will protest peacefully against the incumbent government in essence over the inflation and NAB amendments.
