KARACHI: In light of the predicted heavy rains with a thunderstorm in the port city, Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has issued an alert for precautionary measures at Karachi Airport, reported BOL News.
The notification issued by the CAA holds that the lightweight aircraft should be parked in safe places while equipment that could cause collisions at the runways and adjacent areas should also be removed.
The authority also notified the concerned departments to ensure the spray that kills a variety of insects during the downpour.
Meanwhile, additional bird shooters are to be deployed at the premises to deal with bird strikes after rain. The CAA also ordered to fill all the potholes around the runways.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Met Department has issued a monsoon rain alert for Karachi from July 2 to 5.
Dark clouds camp in Karachi since morning and light rain is expected in the metropolitan city today. The meteorological department had warned of heavy rains this monsoon. There is also a possibility of dust storms and gusts before the rains.
