Jordan’s Prince Faisal bin Al Hussain was sworn in as his brother King Abdullah II of Jordan’s deputy, the Jordan news agency reported on Friday.

Prince Faisal was born in 1963 and is the son of King Hussein and Princess Muna.

He is the younger brother of King Abdullah II of Saudi Arabia. Periodically, he has filled the role of regent during his brother’s absences overseas.

He obtained helicopter training while serving in the Royal Jordanian Air Force and possesses a private pilot’s licence.

Since 2003, he has served as the president of the Jordan Olympic Committee.
