Volodymyr Zelensky, the president of Ukraine, will deliver a video address during the opening session of the NATO summit in Madrid. Ihor Zhovkva, the deputy head of the president’s office, reportedly said such, a Ukrinform correspondent reported from a briefing in Kyiv.

“The president of Ukraine … has been invited to participate in the summit via video link. The president has been invited to speak at the first session of this summit, that is, the inaugural session, which will be attended by all 30 leaders of NATO allies,” Zhovkva said.

He noted that the event will result in the adoption of a new NATO strategic concept for the next decade, as well as a final statement. According to the deputy head of the President’s Office, the issues of Ukraine, as well as Russian aggression, will play a prominent role in these documents.

Zhovkva also said that President Zelensky would take part in the Group of Seven summit next week.
