The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) in the United Kingdom said on Thursday that American actor Kevin Spacey has been charged with four charges of sexual assault against three men.

According to the CPS, the House of Cards star was also charged with one count of inducing someone to engage in penetrative sexual intercourse without their permission.

Two claimed incidences occurred in London in 2005, two more occurred in 2008, and a third occurred in Gloucestershire, western England, in 2013.

According to London’s Metropolitan Police, the accused victim of the 2005 assaults is now in his 40s, while the two individuals allegedly engaged in the 2008 and 2013 incidents are now in their 30s.

As per the Metropolitan Police Service, the decision to prosecute Spacey “follows an assessment of the evidence acquired by the Metropolitan Police Service in its investigation.”

Although the charges were accepted on Thursday, Spacey is currently outside of England and Wales, and the charges will not be enforced legally until he enters one of those countries, according to a CPS spokesman.

When Spacey does not cooperate, the agency has not stated if it will seek his extradition.
