Israel Antiquities Authority discovers a 2100 year old agricultural land in Galilee

Archeologists suspect the family escaped the homestead in a rush, conceivably from ‘danger of a tactical assault’

Archeologists from the Israel Antiquities Authority (IAA) have uncovered a 2,100-year-old rural farmstead in northern Israel’s Galilee locale.

The new unearthing was directed preceding a venture to convey desalinated water to the Sea of Galilee being completed by Mekorot, Israel’s public water organization.

As indicated by Dr. Amani Abu-Hamid, overseer of the rescue exhuming for the IAA, the tenants of the property seem to have left in a rush, abandoning their assets.

“We were extremely fortunate to find an opportunity container, frozen in time, in which the tracks down remained where they were left by the tenants of the site, and it appears to be that they left in a scramble in face of a looming peril, potentially the danger of a tactical assault,” she said.

As per Abu-Hamid, it is the initial time stays from the period were tracked down in the Galilee.

“It is a vital and significant site to show us the spread of the Hasmonean Empire and day to day existence in the Hellenistic time frame,” Abu-Hamid said.

The dig uncovered loom loads utilized for winding around articles of clothing, huge fired stockpiling vessels, and iron farming carries out, including different picks and grass cutters.

Mekorot assisted with supporting the unearthing.
