ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairperson Imran Khan has called a high-level party huddle of Punjab’s senior parliamentary leadership on Wednesday to discuss political options in wake of the Supreme Court’s verdict on dissident legislators.
The SC ruled that the defector’s vote will not be counted in the voting with a majority of 3-2. The unanimous verdict was given by Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial, Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan and Justice Muneeb Akhtar.
The verdict was announced over the reference filed by former Attorney General Khalid Javed Khan on behalf of President Arif Alvi for the life-term disqualification of deviant members after many of the PTI MNAs decided to vote in favor of a no-confidence motion against former PM Imran Khan.

Participants of the meeting will brief premier over the ongoing situation scheduled at the Zaman Park. Parliamentary Advisory Group Chairperson Sibtain Khan, Dr Murad Raas, Mian Aslam Iqbal, Mian Mehmood ur Rasheed, Makhdoom Hashim Jawanbakht will be part of the meeting.
Further course of action on the political developments will be decided in the meeting along with the political options available to the PTI-PML-Q coalition. Important political decisions are expected in the meeting.
