ACLU executive labels Amber Heard’s op-ed “an advertisement.”

Terence Dougherty, an officer with the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), just made a startlingly unintentional accusation against Amber Heard’s op-ed and labelled it “an ad.”

He made the statement during his pre-recorded deposition in a Fairfax, Virginia courtroom.

He was cited as adding, “These are more conversations among employees, staff members in the development department, addressing the placement of Amber’s ad and the finalisation of the op-ed article.” Sorry, this isn’t an advertisement.”
The entire blunder came after the executive began explaining the genesis of the draught, the back-and-forth emails with one of his workers, and the timetable where Ms Heard was “shopping around” for publication.

“[We’re] wondering if we may interest you in a piece by Amber Heard (who, as you may recall, was beaten up during her brief marriage to Johnny Depp) on what the incoming Congress might do to assist safeguard women in similar situations,” the pitch said.

Before ending, the executive revealed that the ALCU scheduled the pitch to coincide with Aquaman’s premiere in order to profit on the film’s hype.
