Meghan Markle has been slammed as “arrogant” and “annoying” by royal fans following the news she is trying to trademark the historic word “archetypes” – after announcing it will be the name of her first series of podcasts.
The Duchess of Sussex ruffled some feathers after it emerged she made the application at the United States Patent and Trademark Office last month.
The word derives from ancient Greek and first entered the English language around the 1540s.
Meghan may have to face legal challenges from companies that currently use the word in their names – like the skincare and cleaning products business Archetypes.
Royal fans have been speaking out about the application and slammed the Duchess’ attempt at trademarking the ancient word as “breath taking arrogance”.
