Karachi: A massive fire broke out at a tire warehouse in Karachi’s Mawach Goth area early Friday morning, around 2 a.m. The warehouse contained a large number of old tires, causing the flames to spread rapidly.
More than ten fire tenders from the Fire Brigade and Rescue 1122 reached the site immediately and began efforts to control the blaze. Officials confirmed that no loss of life has been reported so far.
According to rescue teams, the fire intensified because of the highly flammable material inside the warehouse. Water Board teams also joined the operation, supplying water through tankers to support firefighters.
An emergency was declared at Sakhi Hassan Hydrant, and the Water Corporation sent several tankers to the scene to ensure a steady water supply.
A spokesperson for Rescue 1122 said that the fire has been categorized as a third-degree fire due to its severity. He added that the operation will continue until the fire is completely extinguished.
Fire Brigade and Rescue 1122 teams remain on-site, working tirelessly to bring the situation under control.
