Umar Gul advice Pakistani bowlers to bowl into wickets to restrict runs

In the ongoing series against Australia, Umar Gul has challenged Pakistan’s bowlers to be more disciplined and bowl more within the wickets.

Pakistan surrendered 313 in the first ODI and 348 in the second, resulting in a lot of high scores in the ODI series between the two sides. Pakistan was then able to chase down the total, which was their highest-ever run-chase in one-day internationals.

Gul, on the other hand, encouraged Pakistani bowlers not to give any form of breadth on batter-friendly tracks.

“Bowlers will concede runs if they won’t bowl into the stumps. They will go for runs if they bowl at the strong zones of the Australia batters,” said Umar Gul.

He also mentioned that the quicks need to improve their yorker bowling towards the conclusion of the innings.

“Pacers bowled relatively well in the second ODI while spinner could not contain in the middle-overs.

“The attack would have to be a little more disciplined in the third match and the yorkers should be bowled effectively as well.

“In this age of cricket and on such dry pitches, if a bowler fast bowler gives fifty or sixty runs and bag one or two wickets, it is still a very good bowling,” he added.

The third and final One-Day International will be played tomorrow. The score is now 1-1 in the series.
