Fans of Kate Middleton and Prince William were left perplexed after the Duchess of Cambridge was spotted swimming in Caribbean seas with her engagement ring on, prompting speculation that it was a ‘fake,’ according to Express UK.
According to reports, royal admirers were caught aback when the Cambridges released a video from their trip to Belize in which they can be seen scuba diving.
The video shows Kate and Prince William jumping into and swimming in Caribbean waters, and, surprise, the Duchess was seen wearing her engagement ring in the water!

Fans who spotted the ring flocked to social media to doubt its validity, with many accusing Kate of wearing a ‘fake’ ring.
On the Royally Obsessed podcast, royal fans Rachel Bowie and Roberta Fiorito addressed the excitement, with Bowie asking: “I just want to know was she really wearing her engagement ring?”
Fiorito chimed in, asking: “It must be a stand in, right?”
Her question was answered by Bowie, who said: “Yes, there’s no way, like, who would allow that. There’s not enough insurance on that ring and it’s irreplaceable.”
She went on to speculate: “In the screengrabs that are caught she has a big rock on her finger, what else could it be?”
The two eventually agreed that it was highly plausible that the engagement ring was real and was a ‘tight fit’ on Kate’s ring finger.
