‘PTI outperforms opposition parties in KP’s local bodies polls’

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain has said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had outperformed all the opposition parties in the second phase of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s local bodies election.

He, in a tweet, said the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-F was far behind the PTI in the contest while the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz was completely wiped out.

Fawad thanked the Almighty Allah (SWT) for the lead taken by the PTI in the LG elections, which, he said, predicted the future.

Meanwhile, PTI Senator Faisal Javed Khan said, “This victory is a slap in the face of conscience-sellers and those involved in the conspiracy. The nation stands with the truth. This is a changing Pakistan. We are becoming a nation and falsehood has been exposed. May Allah (SWT) establish this country, Amen. We are freeing ourselves from mental slavery — for generations to come.”

The unofficial results of the 2nd phase of KP LB polls places the ruling party in the lead.

According to the unofficial results, the counting in 38 out of 64 tehsil councils is complete and PTI succeeded in 18 tehsil councils and is in a leading position in 11 tehsil councils.

According to Spokesman of Election Commission of Pakistan Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sohail Ahmed, a total of 6,176 polling stations were set up for local government elections.
