Australia romp past West Indies into Women’s World Cup final

Alyssa Healy hit 126 off 107 balls and had a 216-run opening stand with Rachael Haynes as Australia beat the West Indies by 157 runs to reach the Women’s World Cup final on Wednesday.

Haynes scored 85 as Australia totalled 305-3 after batting first in a 45-over match.

The West Indies’ reply ended at 148-8 when skipper Stafanie Taylor was caught in the 37th over for 48. Due to injury, Chinelle Henry and Anisa Mohammed were unable to bat.

The start of play was delayed over two hours due to misty drizzle on a dreary, foggy day in Wellington, and the West Indies were overjoyed to win the toss and bowl first.
