The committee’s meeting presided over by Prime Minister Imran Khan was attended by the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC),

all services chiefs and federal ministers and officials concerned.

National Security Advisor Moeed Yusuf briefed the participants of the meeting on the formal communication of a senior official of a foreign country to Pakistan’s envoy in the said country in a formal meeting which was conveyed to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The National Security Committee (NSA) termed the letter an open interference in the affairs of Pakistan, which should appropriately be responded to.

The committee expressed its severe concern over the contents of the letter, terming it undiplomatic and amounted to ‘blatant interference in the internal affairs of Pakistan by the country in question, which was unacceptable under any circumstances.’

Earlier, Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Farrukh Habib Thursday said the Parliamentary Committee on National Security would be briefed on the “threat letter” that pertained to the regime change in the country, later in the day.
