Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri adjourns NA session till April 3

ISLAMABAD: Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri on Thursday adjourned National Assembly’s session till April 3 (Sunday) 11.30am.

As soon as the NA session commenced, the opposition members demanded the deputy speaker allow no-confidence motion on which Mr. Suri termed the Opposition benches’ attitude non-serious in running the house proceedings.

Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri had announced the adjournment of the session and left the house.

The opposition members strongly protested against the adjournment of the session and surrounded the NA speaker’s desk and raised slogans against the government.

It is pertinent to mention here that in 24-point agenda issued by the NA Secretariat for today’s session, the debate on the no-trust move against PM Imran is fourth in order.

Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly and PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif, who was supposed to start the debate on the no-trust move, was not present in the house.

Shehbaz Sharif had tabled the no-confidence motion against PM Imran Khan on March 28. The National Assembly’s crucial session was expected to deliberate the no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan in Thursday session.

The debate on the no-trust move was on the fourth number of the NA agenda.
