A masked thief broke into the Beckham family’s West London home and stole thousands of pounds in goods.
The thief pushed their way into an upstairs bedroom at the £40 million property in Holland Park and plundered it while David, Victoria, and Harper, their 10-year-old daughter, sat downstairs fully oblivious.
The break-in was found this morning when Cruz, 17, arrived home after a night out and discovered the overturned bedroom with shattered glass.
David, 46, reportedly dialled 911 and began searching the home with Cruz for the intruder, while Harper remained with Victoria, 47, and awaited police.
‘Sadly, the Beckhams were the victims of some pretty competent burglars who have been working in the area,’ a source close to the family told The Sun.
‘Fortunately, the crooks only got as far as one bedroom before fleeing.’
The burglary is claimed to have’shaken up’ the family, although no one was wounded.
The robber stole thousands of dollars in luxury clothes, accessories, and electronics from the room, but he did not return for more.
The incident occurs only weeks after Posh and Becks were granted planning permission to renovate their Holland Park property, sections of which had been blocked off due to crumbling.
Pictures acquired exclusively by MailOnline reveal that the Grade II-listed home is being held up by supports before restoration begins.
The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea granted the couple permission to restore their historic back patio and stairs, which had become too unsafe to use.
Beckham’s design and access statement indicated that they want to “reinstate the terrace, which is regarded structurally unstable, on a like for like basis.”
According to the statement, the family no longer uses the terrace because of structural problems caused by age, water infiltration, cracking, and spalling caused by cold.
