ALGIERS, March 30 (Xinhua) — U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken arrived on Wednesday in Algeria as part of his tour to the Middle East and North Africa, the official APS news agency and local media reported.
Upon his arrival at Algiers International Airport, Blinken was greeted by Algerian officials and U.S. embassy staff.
The U.S. official is expected to hold talks with Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and Foreign Minister Ramtane Lamamra, during which energy cooperation and the situation in the region will be on the agenda.
Blinken is also due to inaugurate the United States’ pavilion at the Algiers International Trade Fair.
