Balochistan guided to finals by Haseebullah’s mesmerising century

Balochistan advanced to the final of the Pakistan Cup after defeating Sindh by 13 runs in the second semi-final on Wednesday at the Multan Cricket Stadium. In the final, Balochistan will face reigning champions Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on April 1 at the same location.

Balochistan were bowled out for 263 in the 48th over after being put into bat in the match, which was broadcast live on PTV Sports and live-streamed on PCB’s YouTube page.

Haseebullah, the left-handed opening batter, led the way with a 114-ball 131 that included 18 fours and one six. At number four, Asad Shafiq hit 64 from 69 balls, including five boundaries. For the third wicket, Haseebullah and Asad put on 163 runs.

Muhammad Umar and Sohail Khan both took three wickets for Sindh. Mir Hamza, the captain, took two wickets for 42 runs in nine overs.

In turn, half-centuries from Khurram Manzoor, Omair Bin Yousuf, and Sharjeel Khan failed to help Sindh reach 250 for nine in 50 overs, leaving them 13 runs short of the mark.

Omair led the way with a 73-ball 60 that included four fours and a six. Khurram, who bats right-handed, scored 55 off 85 pitches and hit five boundaries. Sharjeel, the first batter, smashed seven fours and one six in 57 pitches.

Kashif Bhatti, a left-arm spinner, took three for 27 in ten overs for Balochistan. Yasir Shah, the captain, took two wickets for 54 runs, while Khurram Shahzad, the right-arm bowler, took two wickets for 58 runs.

Haseebullah of Balochistan was selected player-of-the-match for his century.
