PHILADELPHIA: In a showdown of two of the Eastern Conference’s top teams, Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 40 points and made a game-winning block of Joel Embiid in the final seconds to lead the Milwaukee Bucks to a 118-116 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday night.

The Bucks drew within a half-game of idle Miami for first place in the Eastern Conference, with Khris Middleton scoring 22 points and Jrue Holiday scoring 18.

The 76ers got 32 points from James Harden and nine rebounds from Joel Embiid, who came back from a sluggish start to finish with 29 points, 14 rebounds, and seven assists. Philadelphia has fallen one and a half games behind the Heat.

In the fourth quarter, the game was tied at 108 when Durant’s pull-up jumper, two free throws, and Seth Curry’s 3-pointer gave Brooklyn the lead for good.
