Fans have been anticipating the release of Sharmaji Namkeen since the first peek was announced. This film, featuring Rishi Kapoor and Paresh Rawal as Sharmaji, is significant for a number of reasons, one of which is that it will be the final time viewers will see the late veteran actor on screen. Rishi Kapoor’s son Ranbir Kapoor is doing everything he can to promote his father’s final film, and in a recent interview, he revealed how angry the late actor was that he couldn’t finish it.
Ranbir Kapoor claimed that Sharmaji Namkeen depicts a particularly trying era in Rishi Kapoor’s life. Rishi’s blood reports arrived just a few days after the film began, and it was suspected that he might have leukaemia and that he would need to be transported to America for treatment. The Sanju actor went on to say that when he came down to Delhi to tell his father that he needed to go to America for treatment, his immediate reaction was worry for the movie. It took them some time to persuade the late actor to travel to America, but during his year there, all he could talk about was Sharmaji Namkeen, according to his son.
“It used to irritate him, it used to bother him that he started a film and couldn’t finish it,” Ranbir Kapoor remarked. However, his rehab was completed later, and Rishi Kapoor began filming for Sharmaji Namkeen shortly after his return. However, life had other ideas for Rishi, and he was unable to complete the picture.
