Hammad Azhar misstated about gas production of Sindh: Murtaza Wahab

KARACHI: Advisor to Chief Minister Sindh on Law and Karachi Administrator, Murtaza Wahab on Friday said a few days ago that Federal Minister for Energy, Hammad Azhar has misstated about production of gas in Sindh.

“Hammad said that Sindh produces 38 per cent gas, which is wrong,” Murtaza Wahab said while addressing media in Karachi. On this occasion, he showed the documents released by the federal government related to the energy sector.

He said according to the centre’s documents Sindh produced 64 per cent gas, Balochistan 22 per cent, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 11 per cent and Punjab three per cent.

The Karachi administrator said the country was going through several crises. Industrialists like other citizens were worried because gas was not available, he said.

He alleged that Prime Minister Imran Khan was providing benefits to his party’s financial supporters through crises.

About legislation regarding provision of right of casting vote to overseas Pakistanis, he said the government had given overseas Pakistanis the right to vote, but had snatched the same right from residents of the country.

A day ago, veteran Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi had claimed that the electronic voting machines (EVM) would remove evidence of stealing of elections too.

“Every matter that has been raised by the government is based on ill-intention,” Shahid Khaqan Abbasi had said while addressing media in Karachi.
