According to recent figures, ambulance workers have been given more mental health care at a trust where 10% of employees are absent due to illness.
The East of England Ambulance Trust (EEAST) said extra help was available to “reduce sickness levels”.
According to Dr. Ed Garratt of the Suffolk Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) said the figure was “an indication of the pressure people are working under”
The trust stated that employee well-being was its “top priority”.
Its board revealed the result of a sickness rate of 10.38%, more than double the maximum 5% target.
Dr. Garratt, the CCG’s senior officer, told the Local Democracy Reporting Service: “The ambulance trust is the area of most concern.”
