Conchata Ferrell, a three-time Emmy nominee, passed away aged 77 following a cardiac arrest.
Actress Conchata Ferrell appeared in more than 200 episodes of Two and a Half Men and was a regular on L.A. Law‘s sixth season.
She soldiered through more than a decade on Two and a Half Men, playing opposite Charlie Sheen and Jon Cryer.
Conchata played the role of a no-nonsense housekeeper Berta on the hit CBS comedy.
“She was a beautiful human,” Ferrell’s co-star Jon Cryer said. “I’m crying for the woman I’ll miss, and the joy she brought so many.”
Another fellow star Charlie Sheen said, “An absolute sweetheart, a consummate pro, a genuine friend. Berta, your housekeeping was a tad suspect, your ‘people’ keeping was perfect.”
Ferrell had gained recognition and several theater awards in 1974 for her role in The Sea Horse.
Her work in Lanford Wilson’s Hot L Baltimore led to a starring role in the Norman Lear sitcom of the same name.
She received two Emmy supporting actress Emmy nominations for Two and a Half Men, and a nod for her role as Susan Bloom on L.A. Law.
The actress is survived by her husband, Arnie Anderson, and daughter, Samantha.
