KARACHI: Mayor Karachi Murtaza Wahab on Monday visited Gulshan Hadeed to review the ongoing work on two new water supply lines for the area.
Speaking to the media, the mayor said that due to the negligence of Pakistan Steel Mills management, the people of Gulshan Hadeed had long been deprived of water. “Residents have been facing difficulties because of the stubborn attitude of a few individuals,” he remarked.
He assured that the city’s leadership is committed to taking every possible step to provide basic facilities to the public. “In the coming days, more areas will see new water supply line projects,” he added.
Mayor Wahab also instructed officials of the Karachi Water Corporation to complete the Gulshan Hadeed project within the next two weeks.
Deputy Mayor Salman Abdullah Murad, the UC chairman, and other officials were also present during the visit.
