Heavy rain, snowfall, and thunderstorms persist across parts of Pakistan

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a weather advisory for multiple regions, forecasting thunderstorms, rainfall, and snowfall in different parts of the country in the coming days.

According to the forecast, Upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, the Pothohar region, Islamabad, Murree, and Galyat are expected to experience periodic rain and snowfall, accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms. Mountainous areas may see heavy snowfall, while some regions could receive significant rainfall.

Southern Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Northeastern Balochistan, Central Punjab, and parts of Northeastern Punjab are also likely to receive rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds, with some areas experiencing hailstorms. Elsewhere, partly cloudy weather is expected.

Islamabad and nearby areas are forecasted to witness heavy rain, thunderstorms, and occasional hailstorms. Mountainous regions may experience substantial snowfall.

In Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, areas including Dir, Chitral, Kohistan, Swat, Shangla, Mansehra, Buner, Abbottabad, Swabi, Mardan, Malakand, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Kurram, Nowshera, Peshawar, and Charsadda are likely to receive rain and snowfall, with thunderstorms in some locations. Certain areas may witness heavy rain and intense snowfall.

Meanwhile, Kohat, Karak, Bannu, Waziristan, Laki Marwat, and Dera Ismail Khan are expected to experience strong winds, thunderstorms, and rainfall, with possible hailstorms.

Several cities, including Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Gujrat, Chakwal, Mianwali, Mandi Bahauddin, Sargodha, Khushab, Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Lahore, Okara, Sheikhupura, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Narowal, and Noorpur Thal, are likely to witness thunderstorms and rain, with some places experiencing hailstorms.

Murree, Galyat, and surrounding areas will likely see intermittent rainfall and snowfall, along with strong winds and severe weather conditions. Other districts in Punjab may experience light rain or drizzle.

Sindh is expected to remain mostly dry with partly cloudy skies, though some upper districts may see isolated light rain or drizzle.

Balochistan will continue to experience cold weather, with most regions remaining partly cloudy. Thunderstorms, rainfall, and snowfall on higher peaks are anticipated in districts such as Quetta, Ziarat, Chaman, Pishin, Qila Abdullah, Qila Saifullah, Kalat, Zhob, Barkhan, Khuzdar, Musa Khel, and surrounding areas.

Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan are set to receive intermittent rain, thunderstorms, and snowfall, with some areas experiencing heavy rainfall and intense snowfall.
