Senior Supreme Court judge Justice Mansoor Ali Shah has dismissed rumors about his potential resignation, calling them mere speculation.
Speaking to the media after attending a ceremony on children’s justice, Justice Shah firmly denied the claims, saying, “I don’t know where this idea came from; these are all assumptions. I am not going anywhere.”
He reassured that he would continue performing his duties, stating, “I will keep doing the work I can. I am attending this conference today and will attend another one after this. I will use my authority to improve the system as much as possible.”
While addressing the ceremony on children’s rights, Justice Shah highlighted the judiciary’s commitment to safeguarding the rights of children, describing them as “not just the future, but also the present of the nation.”
“Children are a gift from Allah,” he said, emphasizing the importance of protecting their rights. He also sent a message to lower court judges, stressing the vital role of justice in cases related to children. “Public interest cases lead to significant improvements,” he noted. “I always encourage judges to come to court. Although I am not part of the constitutional bench, we will listen to you.”
His statements came amidst growing speculation about his future but reaffirmed his dedication to his role in the judiciary.
