Oil tanker collides with trailer on Native Jetty Bridge, spilling millions worth of oil

Karachi, A collision between a trailer and an oil tanker on the Kemari Native Jetty Bridge resulted in thousands of liters of oil worth millions of rupees spilling onto the road.

According to details, the accident occurred while heading towards ICI from the Native Jetty Bridge. Although no loss of life occurred, the oil tanker was damaged, and several liters of oil spilled onto the road.

Immediately after the accident, a large number of local residents gathered at the scene and began collecting the spilled oil using plastic drums and other containers.

The local police and traffic police arrived at the scene, dispersing the residents and securing the area around the tanker.

Traffic police officials stated that the affected vehicles were removed from the accident site, and the road was covered with soil. After clearing the road, traffic flow was restored.

The driver of the oil tanker, Imtiaz Khan, stated that his tanker was climbing the bridge at a slow speed when the trailer coming from behind collided with it forcefully. The impact caused the tanker’s nozzle to break, and all the oil spilled out.

The owner of the oil tanker, Habibullah, mentioned that the affected oil tanker was carrying 30,000 liters of cooking oil, and 70% of it spilled onto the road after the accident.

Habibullah further added that the cooking oil was worth over 4 million rupees and the decision regarding legal action will be taken later.
