A delegation of prominent journalists from leading media organizations, including education reporters, visited Jamia Tur Rasheed and Al-Ghazali University to explore their academic programs and initiatives.
The visit began with a warm welcome from Chancellor Mufti Abdul Rahim, who highlighted the critical need to blend religious and contemporary education to address the challenges faced by the nation.
He detailed how Jamia Tur Rasheed has reformed its curriculum, integrating global languages like Arabic, English, Turkish, and Chinese, alongside IT courses to equip students with modern skills.
He also spoke about the successful affiliation of madrassas with the Ministry of Education, resulting in easier registration processes and other benefits.
The delegation toured key departments, including Darul Ifta, Majma Al-Uloom Al-Islamia, JTR Media House, Fiqh Al-Muamalat, Kulliyat Al-Shariah, and Fiqh Al-Halal. During the tour, Azhar Shah provided a detailed briefing about the university’s initiatives and innovations.
They also watched documentaries on Jamia Tur Rasheed’s education system. Mufti Abdul Rahim explained the institution’s approach of dedicating 30% of time to contemporary education for religious students and vice versa for contemporary students to fill the gaps in both domains.
Dr. Zeeshan Ahmed, Vice Chancellor of Al-Ghazali University, elaborated on the university’s vision to bridge the gap between religious and modern education. He highlighted ongoing academic programs such as BS Islamic Studies, BS Education, MS Islamic Banking, and professional development programs. He emphasized the university’s mission to mainstream Islamic knowledge and provide professional skills to its students.
The visit concluded with an interactive Q&A session, where the journalists appreciated the innovative approach of both institutions, particularly their focus on holistic education reform.
