Renowned singer Sara Raza Khan recently spoke candidly about the singing abilities of Aima Baig and Mehwish Hayat, suggesting that they rely too much on autotune. In an appearance on a private TV channel, she shared her honest thoughts about vocal talent in the industry.

When asked if she ever pretended to appreciate someone’s less-than-stellar singing, she didn’t hold back. “I don’t mince my words,” she said, adding that she tells those lacking vocal skills to consider other entertainment options, “even if it might offend someone.” She stated, “If we take away the option of autotune, then Aima Baig is not a singer,” highlighting her belief that many in the industry fall into this category.

Sara also noted, “If I were in a position to create a film, I would definitely hire Mehwish Hayat for an item song, but I would never ask her to sing.”

During the show, she reflected on her time in India, where she participated in singing competitions like Sa Re Ga Ma Pa and Sur Kshetra. As the only Pakistani female contestant, Sara felt the pressure of competing against highly trained Indian singers. Yet, she always managed to impress the judges with her performances, showcasing her talent and determination.

Sara’s strong opinions and personal experiences highlight the challenges and realities of the music industry, reminding us of the importance of true vocal talent.
