Atiqa Odho is a renowned Pakistani television and film actress who rose to fame in the early 1990s with popular dramas like Dasht, Nijaat, Sitara, and Mehrunissa. Over the years, she has starred in numerous hit series, including Besharam, Meri Shehzadi, and Kaisi Teri Khudgharzi.
Fans particularly appreciated her performance in Dao, where she portrayed a make-up artist and matchmaker. Recently, Atiqa Odho appeared on a podcast where she shared her thoughts on the worsening political and economic situation in Pakistan.
Talking about it, Atiqa Odho said, “You know, Ahmed, I tear up when I see this country. My kids were born and raised here. I am angry and upset, and I am not going to apologize for it. Nobody has the right to do what they are doing to our country; it’s as basic and simple as that. I have spent a lifetime serving this country. I am just a drop in the ocean, but I have worked for my country in whatever capacity. I have done a lot for this country, in whatever field I worked in. I have served my country. I am 56, and I have been working since I was 18. I am not afraid to share my opinion. Everyone has contributed to the problems this country faces—every influential person, the public, the political elites. Everybody is responsible for where we are now. Not just politicians and the public, but everyone has let us down. Our children, our country, our own people have destroyed this country.”
