The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has warned about upcoming heavy rain and thunderstorms in several parts of the country, including Karachi, from April 17 to April 19. They say a strong westerly wave will start affecting Balochistan on April 17 and move towards the upper areas by April 18.

In Sindh, cities like Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, and Jacobabad might get heavy rainfall during these days. Similarly, Balochistan, especially places like Gwadar, Kech, and Awaran, could see significant rain.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, places such as Chitral, Swat, and Abbottabad might experience rain, thunderstorms, and even snow in the high mountains. There could also be hailstorms in some spots.

Punjab, including Murree, Islamabad, Lahore, and Faisalabad, is also expected to get rain and thunderstorms. Southern Punjab might see rain from April 18 to 20.

The Met Office advises people not to travel unnecessarily during this time and asks authorities to stay alert and take precautions to avoid any problems.
