ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds across several regions of the country today, including parts of Sindh, Islamabad, Punjab, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with a chance of hailstorms in isolated areas.
According to the PMD, northern regions and coastal areas are expected to experience unsettled weather, while the rest of the country is likely to remain hot and dry. Rainfall accompanied by gusty winds is likely to affect major urban and rural centers, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and upper Punjab.
Sindh: Partly cloudy conditions are expected in coastal Sindh, including Karachi, Thatta, Badin, Sajawal, and nearby areas. There is a chance of thundershowers and gusty winds in some localities during the day.
Islamabad: The federal capital is likely to remain partly cloudy with chances of thunder and brief rain spells later in the day. The surrounding areas of upper Punjab may also witness similar weather conditions.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK): Widespread rain is expected across several districts, including Dir, Swat, Chitral, Kohistan, Shangla, Battagram, and Malakand.
Thunderstorms and strong winds are also likely in Peshawar, Abbottabad, Mardan, Kohat, Nowshera, Bannu, Kurram, and Waziristan. Hailstorms may occur in a few areas.
Punjab: Rain and wind-thunderstorms are predicted in Rawalpindi, Murree, Galyat, Chakwal, Attock, and Jhelum. Evening or nighttime showers may occur in Lahore, Gujranwala, Kasur, and Sheikhupura.
Strong winds and local thundershowers are likely in Faisalabad, Sargodha, Bhakkar, and Mianwali. A few districts may also experience hailstorms.
Hot and dry weather conditions will continue in most parts of Balochistan, southern Punjab, and central Sindh, with no significant rainfall expected in those regions.
