PDMA dispatches relief goods for rains hit people

PESHAWAR: On the special directives of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sardar Ali Amin Gandapur, relief activities are in full swing in the rain-affected districts across the province.

As an important step in this regard, PDMA has dispatched relief packages for Swat, Mohmand, Peshawar, Lower Chitral, Lower Kohistan and other affected districts. Relief supplies include tents, blankets, kitchen sets, hygiene kits, mosquito nets, mattresses and other necessary items.

Apart from this, disbursement of financial assistance announced by the Chief Minister, has also been started. So far, Rs 30 million have been disbursed among affectees in the different districts of the province.

Moreover, the chief minister has directed the district administrations and PDMA to further accelerate relief activities and rehabilitation of infrastructure damaged by recent torrential rains and floods in the certain parts of the province.

He further directed them to ensure that victims are provided with relief packages without any delay.

ISLAMABAD: The Oil Tankers Owners Association (OTOA) stopped the fuel supply in Rawalpindi and Islamabad.

According to the Oil Tankers Owners Association, the delivery of petroleum products will also remain suspended in Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Kashmir, while the supply of petroleum products to airports has also been stopped.

The association said that Pakistan State Oil (PSO) officials have introduced a new automated system of petrol filling, PSO officials and DC Islamabad have informed about the concerns, and filling demand should be met under a metered system.

In this regard, Chairman All Pakistan Oil Tankers Owners Association Mir Shams Shahwani has said that the country and the nation are with the government in this critical situation, and have asked to continue the supply to all the depots.

A few days ago, a video of a policeman torturing a woman and a child in a moving train came to light, later the dead body of the victim was found near Chanigoth railway station, Bahawalpur.

After the woman’s body was found, her death became a mystery, but now the post-mortem report has come out.

According to the postmortem report, the woman’s death is accidental, 5 injury marks have been found on the woman’s body.

The post-mortem report said that the woman died due to broken bones and excessive bleeding.

On the other hand, In the case of the alleged death of the woman who fell from the Millat Express and the police officer’s torture, the spokesperson of the Railways has said that according to the statement so far, the woman has jumped herself.

Railway spokesperson Babar Ali Raza said that the woman was sitting in the seat of another passenger, the passenger in whose place the woman came and sat said to get up from that place, but the woman did not get up from the other passenger’s seat and her luggage was taken by the woman
