Cement prices significant drop in Pakistan

The Pakistan Bureau of Statistics recently released data shedding light on the average retail prices of cement across various regions in the country.

In the northern parts, the average cost per bag was noted at Rs 1230 for the week ending March 21, marking a decrease of 0.73 compared to the previous week’s Rs 1239.

Conversely, in the southern regions, the average retail price per bag stood at Rs 1205, exhibiting a marginal 0.01 percent decrease from the preceding week.

Further insights from the report reveal specific figures for different cities. In Islamabad, the average retail price per bag was Rs 1210, while in Rawalpindi, it was slightly lower at Rs 1199.

Gujranwala recorded a higher price of Rs 1260, with Sialkot and Lahore both at Rs 1250. Faisalabad and Bahawalpur followed closely at Rs 1270 and Rs 1250, respectively.

Other cities like Sargodha, Multan, Peshawar, and Bannu had varying averages ranging from Rs 1190 to Rs 1270.

Meanwhile, in the southern metropolis of Karachi, the average retail price per sack was Rs 1171, whereas Hyderabad trailed slightly higher at Rs 1180.

Sukkur recorded a price of Rs 1300, Larkana at Rs 1173, and Quetta at Rs 1210. Khuzdar marked an average retail price of Rs 1197 per sack.

These figures provide valuable insights into the fluctuating cement market across different regions of Pakistan, crucial for both consumers and industry stakeholders to make informed decisions.
