Shehzad Roy Reveals Reason Behind His Charitable Causes

Shehzad Roy
  • Shehzad Roy revealed the reason behind his humanitarian work.
  • He emphasized that it’s never been about earning religious rewards.
  • The driving force has always been about making lasting change.

Pakistani singer and social activist Shehzad Roy recently opened up about the true motivation behind his humanitarian work, emphasizing that it’s never been about earning religious rewards, or sawab.

Roy, who is as well-known for his social activism as he is for his music, has long been dedicated to making a difference in Pakistan. While his music career has brought him fame, his heart has always been in the work he does through his Zindagi Trust, an organization he’s been running for years to improve education across the country.

In a recent interview, Roy set the record straight, saying, “Whatever I have done so far in the fields of education or for hospitals has not been for the sake of earning sawab.” This is different from the way his mother approaches charity, as she often engages in acts like helping those in need or feeding the hungry with the intention of gaining religious merit.

But for Roy, the driving force has always been about making lasting, meaningful change, not about seeking rewards. “I focus on reformative work because if we start treating education and hospitals as charity, these sectors will deteriorate,” he said. Roy’s ultimate goal is to create a world where everyone has equal access to education, regardless of their economic background.

  • She accused director Syed Noor of its decline.
  • Resham has slowly stepped away from the limelight.

In a recent podcast, beloved Pakistani actress Resham opened up about the challenges she faced in her film career, accusing director Syed Noor of playing a significant role in its decline.

Resham, who first made her mark on television and later became a star in films like ‘Jeeva’ and ‘Sangam,’ has slowly stepped away from the limelight in recent years, choosing instead to focus on her charity work. During the conversation, she reflected on her journey and the evolving landscape of Pakistani cinema. She recalled, “I recently heard Syed Noor saying I was an unfortunate actress because I ruined myself by choosing to work in low-budget productions.”

She defended her career choices, noting that every actor experiences both highs and lows. “Show me an actor who has only done great work. We all have our ups and downs, but for some reason, everyone believes it was only Resham who made bad films,” she said with a hint of frustration.

Resham also shared her feelings of betrayal by Noor, particularly after he developed a relationship with actress Saima, who then became his preferred choice for leading roles. “Syed Noor was the one director who really understood my acting, but he stopped offering me roles because of his affection for Saima Ji,” she explained.

In a heartfelt moment, Resham stated, “By God, Syed Noor destroyed my career. He insulted me on set, questioning who would ever cast me in their films.”
