ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met Jamiat Ulema Islam-Fazal (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazal ur Rehman.

Federal Interior Minister visited Maulana Fazal ur Rehman and inquired about his welfare. He expressed his best wishes for the JUI chief and said to pray for his health and safety.

He said that he has a long relationship with Maulana Fazalur Rahman for 25 years, he has a respectful relationship with him.

KU Academic Council approves HEC Graduate Education Policy

KARACHI: The meeting of the Academic Council of the University of Karachi approved the Higher Education Commission’s Graduate Education Policy in light of the recommendations submitted by the committee formed in the KU Academic Council’s previous meeting.

The committee had recommended a few observations and suggestions and asked the house to adopt them along with the HEC graduate education policy. The Academic Council members approved the recommendations along with the HEC policy.

The committee’s detailed report would be submitted to the KU VC Prof Dr Khalid Iraqi and later that report will be sent to HEC-Islamabad.

The KU Academic Council was chaired by the KU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Khalid Mahmood Iraqi and the meeting was held at the Chinese Teachers Memorial Auditorium on Friday.

The Academic Council approves the HEC Undergraduate Education Policy for BS and AD programs. It also approved the Senate resolutions to implement the Quran’s translation and Seerat course as compulsory subjects across the campus.

The House formed a five-member committee to review ‘our vision, our mission’ statements and submit its report in the upcoming meeting. Professor Dr Iqbal Azhar will head the committee while Prof Dr Faiyaz H. M. Vaid, Prof Dr Nabeel Ahmed Zubairi Prof Dr Bilquis Gul, are Prof Dr Noreen Mujahid will be its members.

The Academic Council also approved the proceedings of the Board of Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences meeting held on November 10, 2023.

Earlier, prayers were offered for the departed souls of the Iranian President Dr Seyed Ebrahim Raisi, and KU faculty members.

The KU has recently conferred the Doctor of Philosophy (Honoris Causa) in the KU Faculty of Islamic Studies to the honorable President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Dr Seyed Ebrahim Raisi.

Muzaffarabad: Azad Jammu and Kashmir(AJK) High Court on Friday granted bail to poet Ahmed Farhad.

The High Court of Azad Kashmir granted bail to Ahmad Farhad against a surety bond of Rs 200,000.

It should be noted that the poet Ahmed Farhad was missing from the federal capital Islamabad in the month of May, for which his wife Urooj Zainab filed a petition in the Islamabad High Court.

After the plea was filed, the Azad Kashmir Police revealed their arrest.

Later, the federal government also announced the arrest of missing poet and journalist Ahmed Farhad from Islamabad after 15 days on May 29.
