Sehar Khan, a highly talented Pakistani television actress, made her debut in the Pakistani entertainment industry through the drama serial “Sanwari.” Sehar Khan is also known for her passion for singing. She has gained recognition for her roles in popular dramas such as “Farq,” “Rang Mehal,” “Zakhm,” and “Fairy Tale.” Although “Sanwari” was her breakthrough series, it was “Rang Mehal” that truly catapulted her to stardom. Recently, “Fairy Tale” has emerged as a significant milestone in her acting career, receiving considerable attention and acclaim.

In a recent interview with Amna Isani, Sehar Khan delved into her successful experience with “Fairy Tale.” During the interview, she discussed her initial rejection of the script, her on-screen chemistry with Hamza Sohail, and the criticism surrounding the drama’s storyline.

Sehar Khan disclosed, “I initially turned down the script for ‘Fairy Tale’ eight times. It’s crucial for me to have a certain level of comfort.”

She further added, “Mahesh Bhai made every effort to convince me. In fact, I was committed to another significant project and was quite occupied with it, so I declined the offer.” She revealed that the makers persisted and assured her that they wanted her exclusively for the role.

“They said, ‘If you don’t take it, we’ll transform Umeed Pasha’s character into an older girl.’ That’s when I decided to give the script a chance. After reading it, I quickly changed my mind and accepted the role, realizing it was meant for me.”

Regarding her remarkable chemistry with Hamza Sohail, Sehar Khan commented, “It was a fresh pairing, which is why it was so well-received. I believe both of us being young contributed to our great energy. Additionally, the people on our set had fantastic energy. Working with Hamza Sohail was effortless. We developed a strong camaraderie and a high level of comfort with each other. I think a certain level of understanding and a good off-screen rapport with your co-star are essential. Now, we’re great friends.”

Addressing the criticism that “Fairy Tale” lacks a compelling storyline, Sehar Khan explained, ” ‘Fairy Tale’ is not a story-driven drama; it doesn’t have a traditional storyline. Instead, it’s a situational drama, focusing on various situations and interactions. It doesn’t follow the intense storytelling format of typical dramas, but rather centers around the characters’ reactions in different situations, and it worked quite well.”

The narrative process of this hit game involves careful planning.

The Call of Duty franchise is known for its immense budgets and global success, akin to major Hollywood productions. The narrative aspect of these games is a crucial element, and the process of storytelling for such colossal titles involves careful planning and creativity.

While Call of Duty primarily attracts a multiplayer audience, its single-player campaigns are explosive cinematic experiences. The recent Modern Warfare series features Task Force 141, led by SAS veteran Captain Price, combating their nemesis, Makarov.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, developed by Sledgehammer, follows Modern Warfare II, created by Infinity Ward. However, there’s no handover of a cliffhanger ending. Both teams worked simultaneously, setting up plot points in MWII to be resolved in MWIII.

The storytelling process involves whiteboards and sticky notes to map out character development, plot points, and cool level ideas. The narrative team divides the campaign into sections, similar to a TV series, to ensure a coherent 8 to 20-hour narrative.

Writing for cinematic sequences is done using screenwriting software. When sharing the narrative with other departments, spreadsheets are used for organizing information alongside the story.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare introduces player choice in routes and playing styles. The narrative adapts to accommodate these choices while maintaining character consistency.

Budget considerations are essential but don’t stifle creativity. High-priority ideas are pursued, even if they’re costly and labor-intensive.

Military advisers contribute expertise, enhancing the authenticity of levels. The team collaborates with advisers on details like night-time raids on fortified locations.

Actors bring their interpretations to scenes, adding depth to the narrative. Surprises and new elements in the game development process keep the team engaged and excited.

Behind the massive budgets and marketing hype, the Call of Duty storytelling process is a collaborative, creative endeavor that thrives on shared ideas and contributions from diverse team members.

EA Announces Free-to-Play Next Sims Game With No Subscriptions

The latest update from The Sims games team unveils progress on the game codenamed Project Rene, which is informally referred to as The Sims 5 for now. Crucially, Maxis has confirmed that the upcoming major Sims game will adopt a free-to-play model and will offer more features in its base game compared to The Sims 4 at its initial release.

During the Project Rene update presentation, Lyndsay Pearson, the Sims creative VP, substantiates what was implied by a job posting back in June: the next Sims game will be available for free download. Pearson clarifies that Project Rene can be played “without a subscription, without purchasing the core game, or encountering energy mechanics.”

Previously, there were speculations about the next Sims game adopting a subscription-based model. However, it appears that this isn’t the current plan. Additionally, it won’t incorporate the common mobile game approach of limiting gameplay through energy meters and microtransactions. Instead, Pearson states that Project Rene will rely on DLC game packs, similar to what we’re familiar with in The Sims 4. Pearson notes, “Apart from regular updates to the core game, we will offer content and packs. It won’t initially have all the features of The Sims 4, but we will introduce new experiences and content to Project Rene over time.”

As an example, Pearson mentions the potential inclusion of seasons, albeit cautiously, saying that Project Rene might encompass “basic weather” in the base game, available to all for free, with a separate pack focused on winter sports available for purchase. However, it remains to be seen if elements like pets and all life stages will also be part of the base game.

The presentation also hints at the possibility of “large-scale early access options” for Project Rene, although this is likely years away. Pearson emphasizes that the development of the next Sims game is still in its early stages and exploratory, even though private playtests have been taking place. Wider public testing will probably have to wait.

Interestingly, Pearson notes that Project Rene and The Sims 4 (along with The Sims Mobile) will coexist for the foreseeable future. It is not intended to replace existing Sims experiences. This further underscores that despite sounding like a core Sims series experience, the next major Sims game will differ from the previous numbered titles in some way, particularly with the addition of multiplayer.
