Pakistan, Bosnia agree to improve the volume of trade

Both Pakistan and Bosnia leaders have agreed to expand cooperation in different fields here on Wednesday (today).

The agreement came under consideration between Prime Minister Imran Khan and Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Sefik Dzaferovic in Islamabad.

Later, in a joint press conference, the premier pointed out that the trade between the two countries currently stands at four point five million Euros which is nothing.

He said both the sides have decided to hold further deliberations to improve trade and cooperation in every field.

The PM also expressed his gratitude to the Bosnian President for his principled stance on Kashmir dispute.

He said India has been taken over by a fascist regime that is not only persecuting innocent people in occupied Jammu and Kashmir but also targeting its minorities especially the Muslims.

Luke Ronchi named batting coach for New Zealand replacing Peter Fulton

New Zealand has appointed former batsman Luke Ronchi as the team’s new batting coach.

The 39-year-old has replaced former test batsman Peter Fulton who stepped down to become head coach of the first-class side, Canterbury.

Ronchi had been working with the New Zealand men’s team for the last two years as fielding and wicketkeeping coach.

“I’m absolutely pumped. I’ve really enjoyed being back with the team in recent seasons and it’s exciting to be given the opportunity full-time this summer,” Ronchi said.

“Getting the chance to continue working with our batsmen is a great honor and I’m looking forward to seeing how I can help improve their games and best prepare them to perform at the highest level,” the player added.

He will start his tenure as the Kiwis are scheduled to play against West Indies for three T20Is and two Tests.

Earlier, Luke Ronchi had played four Tests, 85 ODIs and 33 T20Is. The four Tests produced 319 runs at 38.88 while the 85 ODI fixtures yielded 1397 runs.

He had also represented the Mumbai Indians in IPL. The batsman had played with the Kiwis during the 2019 World Cup too.

Furthermore,  Ronchi last played in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season five group stage earlier this year for Islamabad United.

Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood has on Wednesday said no plan is under consideration for the closure of educational institutions across Pakistan amid rising coronavirus cases.

Shafqat Mahmood said in a statement that the country is witnessing another wave of COVID-19 and the health ministry advised to keep a tight eye on the developments.

He said that Prime Minister Imran Khan had chaired the session of National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) where the participants reviewed the COVID-19 testing capacity in educational institutions.

He clarified that educational institutions could not be closed in the current situation. The minister said that the country fought the pandemic and produced exemplary results to curb COVID-19 as compared to the other nations.

He termed the establishment of a science lab a step towards setting a standard.

Top Indian anchor Arnab Goswami arrested; ministers condemned the act

One of India’s top news anchor, Arnab Goswami has been arrested in connection with an abetment to suicide case.

According to the details, the Republic TV founder Arnab Goswami was being investigated for his alleged role in the death of an architect who designed his studio.

Anvay Naik took his life in 2018 and his wife accused Mr Goswami of not paying his fee.

However, Goswami and Republic TV network deny the allegation.

Several Union Ministers have condemned the arrest as an attack on press freedom, with Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar calling it a reminder of the Emergency.

“We condemn the attack on press freedom in Maharashtra. This is not the way to treat the Press. This reminds us of the emergency days when the press was treated like this,” Prakash Javadekar tweeted.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah hit out at the Congress and its allies, terming it a “blatant misuse of state power”.

Moreover, according to Goswami’s claims, he manhandled and assaulted by the police at his Mumbai home before his arrest.

For recent months, he has been particularly critical of Mumbai police over their handling of the death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput. He often accused Mumbai police of being lenient in their investigation into the star’s death.

“Pakistan looks forward to working with anyone who wins today,” Foreign Office spokesperson Zahid Chaudhri said, adding that the US election was an “internal matter” but that Pakistan conveyed its best wishes to Americans.

Prime Minister Imran finds similarities with Donald Trump

In an interview with a German magazine, Prime Minister Imran Khan had shared how he and US President Donald Trump have had to do “a lot of out-of-the-box thinking” in their respective political careers to reach the top.

PM Imran also shared his opinion on the American presidential candidates and whom he would prefer working with following the US Election 2020.

On the US elections and prospects of winning, PM Imran stressed that although Biden was in front in the opinion polls, Donald Trump was very unpredictable because, unlike normal politicians, “he plays by his own rules”.

The prime minister then recalled his long political struggle in Pakistan and how he tread his way to the office of the country’s prime minister.

Pakistan Railways to run Chaman Express from November 10

Pakistan Railways has decided to resume Chaman passenger train from November 10 and also released its schedule for informing the travellers.

The passenger train will run between Chaman to Quetta from November 10 at 8:30 am and returned to its destination from the provincial capital at 2:00 pm.

Earlier in October, the Railway department had announced to resume Mianwali Express passenger train from October 31 that will run between Lahore and Mari Indus en route Sargodha and Mandian.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Railways had unveiled a plan earlier to outsource commercial management of eight passenger trains to the private sector in order to provide better passenger facilitation to the travellers.

Earlier, in a statement, the spokesperson of the railway department said that eight passenger trains are being privatized.

The trains include Karachi-Rawalpindi Sir Syed Express, Karachi-Havelian Hazara Express, Karachi-Lahore Shalimar Express, Lahore-Mari Indus Mianwali Express, Lahore-Sialkot Narowal Passenger, Karachi-Mirpur Khas Mehran Express, Lahore-Multan Moenjo Daro Express and Lahore-Multan Badar Express.
