Hezbollah's leader Naim Qassem has issued a strong call for national unity in Lebanon as the country faces intensified Israeli military strikes. Amid ongoing violence that has resulted in over 1,000 deaths and displaced more than 1.2 million people, Qassem emphasized that Lebanon must choose between surrender and resistance.
In a recent statement, Qassem condemned negotiations with Israel, asserting that talks under fire would amount to surrender and weaken Lebanon's position. He stressed the importance of resisting Israeli aggression, describing it as part of a broader Israeli-American effort to dominate the region.
The conflict has escalated since early March, following Hezbollah’s rocket attacks on Israeli territory and Israel’s ground invasion into Lebanese land, aiming to target Hezbollah fighters.
Qassem called on the Lebanese people to embrace "national unity," saying this could be achieved by the government reversing its March 2 decision to ban Hezbollah's military activities.
