Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has described the war imposed on Gaza as the darkest chapter for humanity during an emotional speech at the UN General Assembly.
Erdogan showed heartbreaking images of Palestinian women holding empty pots in hunger and malnourished children suffering from severe food shortages. He said Israel disregards international law and must be restrained, adding that its aggression has become unbearable.
The Turkish president demanded an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and strongly condemned what he called Palestinian genocide. He warned that those who remain silent over Israel’s brutality are equally complicit in this heinous crime.

Recep Tayyip Erdogan urged Israel to halt its bombardment and allow unrestricted humanitarian aid into Gaza. He cautioned the international community that silence in the face of this aggression, famine, and genocide would amount to a grave crime.
He further accused Israel of not only targeting Gaza and the West Bank but also carrying out attacks in Syria, Iran, Yemen, and Lebanon, declaring it a threat to regional peace.
Erdogan also questioned whether Israel’s actions violated the UN host country agreement and demanded accountability on the issue.
