The Government of Sindh has extended the ban imposed under Section 144 across the province for another one month, effective from May 1, 2026. The order prohibits activities such as wall chalking, protests, demonstrations, sit-ins, rallies, and the public display of weapons.

According to the Home Department’s notification, private security guards are allowed to carry weapons only during duty hours.

However, they are strictly prohibited from displaying weapons openly, especially while moving in vehicles or patrolling in public places. Weapons must remain inside vehicles, and guards have been directed to avoid any visible display that could create fear among the public.

The order also states that Station House Officers (SHOs) have been authorized to take legal action against anyone violating these restrictions. Cases will be registered under relevant laws, including Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code.

The decision aims to maintain law, order and ensure public safety across Sindh.
