ISLAMABAD / RIYADH: Saudi Arabia has introduced a new policy restricting Hajj travel for children under the age of 15, in a move aimed at regulating pilgrimage arrangements and crowd management.
According to a statement issued by the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority spokesperson, the revised policy will come into effect from May 3, 2026. Under the new rule, pilgrims under 15 years of age will no longer be permitted to travel on Hajj flights.
Following the implementation of this restriction, all Hajj visas issued to underage pilgrims have been declared invalid.
The PCAA further clarified that individuals who will not complete 15 years of age by May 27, 2026, will also be deemed ineligible for Hajj travel. The decision is expected to affect around 70 pilgrims from Karachi.
Saudi immigration authorities have instructed all airports to strictly prevent underage passengers from boarding Hajj flights.
The Pakistani aviation authorities added that Saudi officials have assured full refunds for all affected pilgrims.
