Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) General Anil Saeed stated that the district administration is taking all possible steps to improve the traffic system. He made these remarks while chairing a meeting of the Regional Transport Authority at the DC Office on Monday.
The meeting was attended by RTA Secretary Sardar Zaheer Ahmed Khan, Chief Officer Municipal Committee Attock Sardar Aftab Ahmed Khan, DSP Motorway Police Manzoor Khan, and other officials.
During the meeting, officials discussed various issues, including road safety, vehicle fitness standards, overloading, axle load management, the use of gas cylinders in vehicles, and the registration of Qingqi rickshaws. They also reviewed plans for solar-powered traffic signals, computerization of weighing stations, enforcement against vehicles with expired route permits, and the improvement of bus terminals.
It was decided that electric buses would start operating in Attock from October. The administration assured that traffic problems, including rickshaw parking and other related challenges, would be addressed in the coming months.
