The PML-N-led coalition government has increased the federal excise duty on cement and other commodities in the 2024-25 Budget, adding a burden to those planning construction projects.
As part of this aggressive taxation, the excise duty on cement has been raised from Rs1 to Rs3 per kilogram.
Following this announcement, cement prices have already risen ahead of Eid and are expected to increase further in the coming days.

The revision in federal excise duty FED on cement bag pushed price of each 50kg bag to around Rs1330, as compared to previous price of Rs1280. The price of cement bags are expected to hit around Rs1370 in upcoming days.| Company | Rate (RS) |
