PM takes notice of attack on Maulana Fazal ur Rehman's son

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has expressed great concern over the attempt to attack and kidnap the son of head of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazal (JUI-F) Maulana Fazal ur Rehman.

Shahbaz Sharif met Maulana Fazal ur Rehman at his residence where the Prime Minister expressed great concern over his attack on his younger son Asjad Mahmood and trying to kidnap him.

The Prime Minister also issued orders to arrest those involved in the attack and abduction.

The overall and political situation of the country was also discussed in the meeting of the Prime Minister and Maulana Fazal ur Rehman.

Earlier, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif had constituted an 18 -member committee to review the revival of alternative dispute resolution mechanism and the traditional Jirga System in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The committee will consult all relevant stakeholders across the province and submit its recommendations to the Prime Minister within one month.

The Prime Minister has constituted an 18 -member committee for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, whose main purpose is to assess how to restore the Jirga System to resolve the dispute in the province and how to empower the civil administration.

According to the notification, the Jirga members will consult with all the stakeholders of the province and make suggestions under the supervision of the constitution and the judiciary, which is acceptable to the citizens of every school and does not conflict with the constitution.
