LAHORE: Early morning showers in various parts of Lahore on Tuesday brought much-needed relief from the recent heat, making the weather pleasant.
Rain was also reported in several other areas of Punjab, including Kasur, Pakpattan, Kamalia, Sargodha, Chichawatni, Chiniot, and Vehari.
Meanwhile, different regions of Azad Kashmir also experienced rainfall as dark clouds covered the skies. According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, heavy rainfall is expected in some parts of the country from today through July 17, raising the possibility of urban flooding and landslides in vulnerable areas.

This increased precipitation poses a serious risk of flash floods in rivers and nullahs across Islamabad, Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northeastern Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir. Authorities are particularly concerned about low-lying areas being submerged and the potential for landslides in mountainous regions.
The recent wave of rains has already had tragic consequences. Over the past 24 hours, various cities in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa witnessed significant rainfall, leading to low-lying areas being inundated. Disturbingly, rain-related incidents have resulted in eight fatalities and 19 injuries, highlighting the immediate dangers associated with these intense weather patterns.
